For many years geospatial users have been building 3D scenes and worlds for various use cases: replicating the physical world - as a digital twin. With the increased attention in making the metaverse interoperable and efforts to standardize it, geospatial use cases bring impact in this world.
In this session, we’ll talk about concepts, explore use cases and examples in geospatial that are priorities in the metaverse. We’ll also look at how I3S, as an OGC open format for streaming massive 3D geospatial content, could be used as an interoperable 3D format within the metaverse.
