Utah's Department of Natural Resources (DNR) uses Esri GIS to manage confrontation between humans and nature, as the state's population continues to grow rapidly. ArcGIS maps provide real-time tracking and analysis, enabling the department to reduce the risk of dangerous pelican strikes at Salt Lake City International Airport and prevent vehicle collisions with moose and deer on major roads and highways. Utah DNR is also using Esri maps to restore damage to over 2 million acres of natural habitat through a watershed restoration initiative.
