Communities around the world are implementing new patterns of collaboration to support better decision-making. In what used to be called Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) the focus has changed from data to services and increasingly to knowledge and collaboration. This is sometimes referred to as an Integrated Geospatial Information Framework (IGIF), Integrated Geospatial Infrastructure, Geospatial Knowledge Infrastructure (GKI) and geospatial ecosystem. No matter how you refer to it, there is a significant shift to collaboration and informing decision-makers across borders, jurisdictions, and sectors to address shared challenges.
