This session will present the data structures and types of surfaces that are common in GIS and the tools available in Spatial Analyst and Geostatistical Analyst for creating them. We will discuss and demonstrate different types of surfaces and guidelines for choosing appropriate tools, with particular emphasis on choosing the best interpolation tools for creating raster surfaces and evaluating the quality of the surface.
