The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals are 17 global benchmarks, established in 2015, that the UN is challenging the world’s nations to meet by 2030. Number 4 on the list involves educational opportunities. By the end of the decade, every country should “ensure that all girls and boys complete free, equitable, and quality primary secondary education leading to relevant and effective learning outcomes.” How close are we to achieving that goal? This map displays global data regarding the average educational level that children born today in any given country will likely achieve.
This data is from the United Nations' Human Development Index and represents the most recent available data for each country as of 2022.
