As part of the Leeds Flood Alleviation Scheme, the Environment Agency and Leeds City Council are undertaking a programme of natural flood management (NFM) works across the 700km² catchment of the River Aire to reduce flood risk in the city. Mott MacDonald used ArcGIS Online and and a number of apps to develop NFM Sites was developed support the largest NFM programme in England by providing an end-to-end solution used by the project engagement team to identify stakeholders and work with landowners to plan and deliver nature-based solutions. Both web and field apps enable engagement teams to work with landowners and other stakeholders to agree suitable and effective designs to minimise flood risk. The system supports a repeatable and auditable process for managing the delivery of a large programme of NFM at a catchment scale. The experience builder guides the project engagement team through their specific role based actions for the project workflow.
