COVID-19 has had a big impact on how we respond to disasters and crisis with GIS. It has changed to game to shift to a community approach. This shift is enabled by the information sharing capabilities of ArcGIS as well as ArcGIS Hub. Many organizations and jurisdictions have taken advantage of this paradigm shift and have applied this approach to other disasters, crisis, and incidents to bring together data, apps, and people to support the mission. We have witnessed this community approach having many benefits including enhancing information sharing, enhancing coordination, support better decision making, reducing duplication of effort, and ultimately improving outcomes for survivors. In this session, we will share the vision of this approach as well as demonstrate how multiple organizations can collaborate to support effective response.
