In this webinar, we'll review the importance of GIS to ground truth data in agriculture for cropland and crop type mapping needs. NASA Harvest, in partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations (UN) Global Information and Early Warning System network , is working to fill the notable lack of necessary ground data across food insecure countries. This will be done through testing methods for the collection of critical ground truth datasets for agriculture to develop cropland and crop type maps and yield modeling across smallholder agricultural systems in sub-Saharan Africa.
This video will give an overview and use case of ArcGIS Survey123 for agricultural ground truth data applications by NASA Harvest and the broader community as well as provide an overview of the Survey123 tools and features that facilitated this work.
