Working with spatial data may require three coordinate systems for different purposes: data storage, spatial analysis, and display on a map. The appropriate choice for one purpose may not be the best for the others. The coordinate system can make or break your spatial analysis. This workshop will explain how to get the most accurate results when performing spatial analysis. Topics include when to use geodesic or planar calculations of distance and area, ellipsoidal or gravity-related heights, and which projections are appropriate to correctly (and creatively) map your analysis results.
