The Port of Rotterdam wants to become the smartest port in a world that will be challenged by two major shifts in the coming decades: energy transition and digitizing. Autonomous transportation will become the next standard and autonomous ships are no longer science-fiction: they are already being build. Real-time information about the "What, Where and When" will become crucial to facilitate these ships. In this presentation the roadmap of the Port of Rotterdam towards a Smart Port will be explained.
