Placekey, launched last October, is a free universal standard identifier for a physical place. Since launch, it has been embraced by the world’s largest organizations, including Esri, who is a founding partner. This session would consist of a co-presentation between Placekey and leadership from one of the below counties, on how Placekey allowed them to access previously-inaccessible insights by merging disparate datasets and creating tools that drive data transparency. Previous examples include Johns Creek, GA’s use of Placekey to create a free and open PPP dashboard in Esri that highlights business use of federal loans (case study attached),and Maricopa County’s use of Placekey to integrate multiple disparate address-based datasets and make data apis accessible to the public. There are a number of initiatives across the Esri landscape that make this session relevant to the Esri developer community. The Living Atlas continues to add Placekey-appended datasets, the ArcGIS Pro Toolbox just launched to allow users to append Placekeys to their own data, and the SLG team is about to begin reselling SafeGraph foot traffic, all of which mean that having a county co-presenting with the Placekey team on the impact Placekey has on their data operations should have broad relevance to developers in both the public and private sectors.
