Calculate Solar Radiation is a configuration of ArcGIS Pro that can be used by local government staff to calculate solar radiation maps for the wider community. Solar radiation maps form the basis for assessing if buildings have potential for solar panel installation. Surface meteorology and Solar Energy global data sets by NASA are used to calibrate the atmospheric parameters used in this analysis to provide more accurate results. In addition, solar radiation results can be visualized on buildings in a 3D scene and total solar radiation per selected roof area can be evaluated.
