Ocean Networks Canada hosted Government of Canada sponsored workshops in fall 2019 on the creation of coastal Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) for Semiahmoo-Boundary Bay, British Columbia and Washington State. These events will inform the development of best practices for tsunami, storm surge and sea level rise studies across Canada. Workshop guidance was provided by land-sea DEM experts from the NOAA Center at the University of Colorado Boulder. Topographic and bathymetric data from a variety of sources were integrated and evaluated with ArcGIS 10.7 and other software.
