With the advent of oceans of geospatial data and the maturation of spatial analysis methodology, university curricula are now poised to synthesize the physical geography and spatial analysis traditions of geography and impart scientific and technical skills to the next generation of ocean stewards. This talk provides an overview of a new university course integrating GIScience with the pedagogical and problem-based needs of sustainable marine environments.
