From Esri Events
What is driving usage and adoption of geospatial technology within organizations? Traditionally adoptions comes in waves (due to hurricanes, smart cities, pandemics, etc.) due to drivers from emergencies and natural disasters, federal funding, or technology-driven advancements like cloud and mobile. But lately, GIS is being embraced as a critical infrastructure, a foundational technology that must be consistently prioritized and invested in. At the 2022 Esri Public Sector CIO Summit, panelists Shaun Gayle, Assistant City Manager at City of Miramar, FL and Dan Hunt, CIO at Pima County, AZ discuss current uptake in GIS technology within their organization and how they capitalize on opportunities to grow geospatial technology and adoption. Stephen Goldsmith, Director of the Innovations in American Government Program at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government hosts the panel.
