Since the 1980’s, fewer people are participating in outdoor recreation activities such fishing, hunting, and visiting parks. Unfortunately for the agencies tasked with conservation and management of these natural resources, their budget is mainly derived from taxes and fees associated with these services. In an attempt to increase the number of visitors, many agencies have adopted a model which focuses on recruitment, retention, and reactivation (R3) of outdoor recreationists.
At this meetup, we discussed how the new Recreation Outreach solution can be used by state and local governments to understand key license trends, promote recreation opportunities, and share outdoor amenities with the public.
