Mansour Raad, Special Projects Lead at Esri, discusses the fact that we are already living in an AI-first world today and that there are many opportunities to leverage AI to gain greater geo-insight. Mansour defines AI, Machine Learning and Deep Learning terms and points to currently implemented machine learning capabilities deployed in ArcGIS, to do things like classification, clustering and prediction. We can also connect with other systems via API's to integrate the capabilities of systems like TensorFlow and IBM Watson. Mansour then describes Machine Learning in a little more detail and provides a terrific example to solve the problem of generating a navigable road network for field-based asset inspections.
