Remaining in one-third of the countries on earth, landmines maim or kill thousands every year. The Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining uses GIS to understand where the mines are, and where to start removal to begin the rebuilding of communities. Ambassador Stefano Toscano discusses how GIS is fundamental to the peaceful resolution of conflict, and the restoring of normalcy in conflict-torn areas.
