The New Orleans Police Department is using Operations Dashboards for live, responsive interfaces to provide situational awareness during special events. In 2018 NOPD transitioned to using Story Maps as an alternative to paper-based plans for event management which, while an improvement, did not provide commanders with real-time situational awareness. For that, the department moved beyond simply planning to true incident management by incorporating live data using Operations Dashboards.
